Spring Island, LLC - Maine Green Design & Build Firm
About Spring Island
Spring Island is a unique design-build company committed to our clients' needs and our shared environmental future. The company has several distinctive characteristics that set it apart:
- An unparalleled commitment to the art and science of green design and building
- A collaborative design-build team that always includes the owners of the company
- An innovative company structure that allows us to keep project costs to a minimum
- Purposefully staying small to maintain a complete focus on our clients and our work
The three owners of Spring Island originally met while working on a building project on an island off the coast of Maine. We realized that by combining our individual strengths and experience we could create an organization that would offer our clients an exceptional design and building experience - producing beautiful and sustainable projects with a focus on affordability.
Creating our firm was a natural process based on the values that we share and our approach toward the environment and our community. This set of common interests provided a strong foundation, which led to a healthy and innovative organization. Each of us provides a key leadership role in the daily operations of Spring Island. Additionally, all of the owners contribute time on site, physically working with our crew to maintain a fluid design-build process and maintain a vibrant feedback loop. We believe in the power of collaboration and the importance of staying in touch with the actual art of building.
Our company name is a reference to the Abenaki words for Chebeague Island, where we first met.
